Wellbeing is at the heart of our school community because we recognise that children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and emotionally secure. By nurturing wellbeing, we support not only academic achievement but also children’s confidence, resilience, and sense of belonging. Our classrooms promote comfort and choice through flexible seating, and we provide dedicated supports such as our Sensory Room, sensory pod, and nurture room, offering calm, supportive spaces where children can regulate, reflect, and receive additional guidance when needed. We maintain a consistent rule focus and calm focus each fortnight to help children develop self-regulation and positive behaviour habits. Pupils participate in programmes including Roots of Empathy, Fun Friends, Friends for Life, A Lust for Life, and Weaving Wellbeing, all of which strengthen emotional literacy and coping skills. Morning Meetings and soft starts form part of our daily routines, helping children begin each day feeling connected and ready to learn. Our staff are trained in trauma-informed practice, we are proud members of the Well Schools Network, and each morning children are warmly greeted at the school doors by teachers and ANAs, reinforcing our strong culture of care and belonging.
